about Promenade at the CDS show
-“Kimberley Cook came to the show just to have fun, which included winning the CDS third level amateur championship on Promenade.
She also won the trophy for the highest score in a CDS class at third or fourth level with a
77% from judge Linda Zang (0 judge). Zang gave Promenade four
9’s on her third level, test 2 ride. Judge Axel Steiner (0 judge) also gave Promenade two
9’s in their third level, test ride.
The pair also earned the CDS third level amateur championship and the trophy for the high-scoring mare (out of 68 mares) in the CDS show.
Cook purchased Promenade, who is by the Thoroughbred stallion Prince Thatch, in October of last year. She went horse shopping in Germany with her trainer, Elizabeth Ball and Ball’s husband, Pierre Cousyn. Promenade, 8 at the time, fit Cook perfectly.
“ It has been great to have a horse that knows a little bit more than me for a change” said Cook, who had ridden through second level. “ I have learned so much from her. She is a pleasure to ride and a joy to be around. We seem to have gotten on the same wavelength; I just think things and they happen”.
